Is there a way to edit AWS ECR image tags or otherwise manage them?

Question

I want to set tags in case I use an older version of the AWS ECR image.

If you push with the same tag, it becomes .

So I searched and there was a method of retagging in the docs, but it was a method of attaching multiple tags. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonECR/latest/userguide/image-retag.html

Is there a way to directly edit or is there another tag management method?

Generally I would suggest you to configure your repository to be immutable to prevent image tags from being overwritten if you need to use older version of image.
Immutable tags gives you a way to easily and uniquely identify an image.

In your case, if your image tagged like v1.0.1, v1.0.2, v1.0.3 etc.. You can use the old version tag directly for rollback (v1.0.1).
