Alternate notification mechanisms

re:Post currently seem to be only offering notifications via email. I would appreciate alternate notification mechanisms, namely Desktop Notifications in my web browser and a "silent" (Facebook-style) notification queue in re:Post itself.
This would make participation more effective and faster, without forcing users to use the mailbox as a notification queue.

Ops - I missed the orange tag on the right, but searched for "Feedback" both in page (expecting to see a link in footer, or under the Help menu) and in FAQ to no avail :(. Maybe an action to add it there?
