How to set Cloudfront custom headers

Question

Customer have a question on Cloudfront custom headers. They we need to set a custom header "X-Src-Host" that gets passed to Origin and set the value of it to the the "Host" value - as the CF property will have multiple cnames associated.

I reckon they have to use a lambda function to do this ? Is there any other way of achieving this objective ?

Accepted Answer

Yes, static values can be set in the Origin Headers section of a configuration.  But in order to use dynamic or computed values, like values from other headers for example, would require Lambda@Edge to set.
