Communication to DB fails after upgrading MySQL RDS instance from small to medium

We have upgraded our MySQL instance in RDS from small to medium. Once that happened, we cannot connect to the DB (Error 60).

We've even tried open the security group to all income traffic, restart the DB and our client app, and all suggestions that are in google.

The VPC allows access from Lambdas, and the lambdas can still access the DB, but we can't access from anywhere else.

Any idea how to solve it?

Did you check the subnet group and the current subnet the instance is sitting on?

If Lambdas are still connecting but you can't connect from outside the VPC its most likely a routing issue.
