Hi There
There are other factors other than security groups. Please make sure to check NACLs, route tables, etc. Problems connecting to Amazon EC2 instances in Amazon VPC are usually related to the configuration of security groups, network access control lists (ACLs), or route tables. Here is a very helpful troubleshooting guide
