Error while trying to delete ICEBERG table

Question

Hi,
I created ICEBERG table by using CTAS command.
By mistake I deleted the Parquet files and afterwards tried to drop the table.
Now once I'm trying to delete the table I'm getting the following error.

DDL execution timed out.
This query ran against the "default" database, unless qualified by the query. Please post the error message on our forum  or contact customer support  
```

How I can recover it?

Hello,

This seems to be a known issue as the underlying metadata of iceberg deletion makes timeout from Athena. You can alternatively try to,

1. delete data/metadata from S3 location if any still exist by manually goto your iceberg location and delete the entire folder.

2. Navigate into Glue --> Tables --> Select the table(iceberg) --> Delete. This will delete the iceberg table gracefully.
