Greetings,
I understand that you currently trying to increase/Update the RAM in a LightSail Instance and also want to understand how you can copy the content of the existing instance with more RAM.
Yes, it is possible to increase the RAM of a LightSail Instance. For this you will need to change the current LightSail Plan [1]. However, Currently the LightSail Instances can have a maximum of 32 GB Memory/RAM for Linux or Windows machines.
The Prerequisites is to scale your LightSail instance, block storage disk, or database for this you take a snapshot of the resource and use the snapshot to create a new, larger version of that resource. Kindly refer to document [2] for the detailed steps on how to create a larger instance.
I hope I was able to provide you with meaningful information. Should you have additional questions or concerns, please get back to us and we will be happy to assist you.

There's something that it's not working as expected and here's the scenario:
- host A with 1G memory - hosting web sites
- host B made from host A's snapshot and increasing memory when snapshotting
I created the snapshot from host A and then assigned the static IP that host A had but when accessing web sites now hosted at host B these are not available. I would had assumed that just creating the snapshot and reassigning a static IP (for DNS) was all that was required but seems that something else is needed in the snapshotted host B?
Thanks.
