Setup TOTP screen for Hosted UI

I created a Cognito Hosted UI where MFA is required and Time-based One-time Password is the only one I enabled. But when I sign up it never shows a screen to setup TOTP. So when I try to login I get a "You must have multi-factor authentication (MFA) set up to sign in. Please set up MFA and try again." error.

Is there some configuration I should set to show the TOTP setup screen for a Hosted UI?

I am trying to do the same thing it sounds like. It looks like you need to make your own UI that then calls the Cognito API: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cognito/latest/developerguide/user-pool-settings-mfa-totp.html This is a resource for doing it with Amplify: https://docs.amplify.aws/lib/auth/mfa/q/platform/js/

Thanks for the reply. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think those won't work for the Hosted UI.

The way I setup the Hosted UI is the one described at https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cognito/latest/developerguide/cognito-user-pools-app-integration.html#cognito-user-pools-create-an-app-integration. So I was expecting to see a TOTP setup screen as I enabled MFA as required but it's not shown.
