Route 53 Georeferencing: Googlebot IP 66.249.81.195 in Europe ends up in the North America Region

Question

I have route 53 with geroreferinging turned on, with 6-7 regions, including Europe and North America. I have noticed that Lighthouse Google Bot with the ip 66.249.81.195 is not being directed to our european IP, instead it is given our IP in the USA. How can this be solved?

My question is: what does AWS uses for locating the IP? This is quite important as we would like to serve to Google bot our fastest servers, not the servers in another continent.
