Provide 'public' access to my Q Business chatbot

0

I would like to share my newly created Q Business chatbot with a number of external parties for review and validation. Does this require that I establish them as individual users in the application (and that they establish themselves as users in the system)? Will this require them to incur usage costs or will those acrue to my account? Is there a way that they can access the application without logging in as user? alternately, could i establish a 'tester' user and share those credentials with the external parties. (I am coming from the content side rather than the business side and have relatively little experience with AWS applications so apologies if this is a 'stupid' question.) Thanks in advance.

To share your Q Business chatbot for review:

Access Options: External parties can access it either as individual users, or via a single shared "test" user if login is required. Public Access: Set up a public endpoint or web interface if possible, to avoid requiring individual logins. Costs: All usage costs typically accrue to your AWS account, not to testers. Best Practice: Consider a sandbox environment to allow safe, realistic testing without impacting production settings. This approach keeps things simple for testers and controls costs and security.

I apologize, but based on the information provided in the available sources, I cannot give a definitive answer to your specific questions about providing public access to your Amazon Q Business chatbot. The sources do not contain information about sharing Q Business chatbots with external parties or setting up public access without individual user accounts.

However, I can provide some general information related to access and identity management for Amazon Q Business:

  1. Amazon Q Business is integrated with AWS IAM Identity Center for managing user identity and access. This suggests that typically, users would need to be set up individually in the system.

  2. There are different tiers for Amazon Q Business (Lite and Pro), and you must use the Amazon Q Business console to assign subscription tiers to users. This implies that users generally need to be established in the system.

  3. Amazon Q Business supports cross-region access through IAM Identity Center, which allows for connecting to user identity information in different regions.

  4. For custom plugins that require authentication, Amazon Q Business needs permissions to access credentials stored in Secrets Manager.

Given these points, it seems that the standard approach involves setting up individual user accounts. The sources do not mention any public access options or the ability to share a single set of credentials among multiple users.

Regarding costs, the sources do not provide specific information about how usage costs are accrued or billed for external users.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on sharing your Q Business chatbot with external parties, I recommend contacting AWS support directly or consulting the latest documentation, as the available sources do not cover this specific use case.
