Amazon connect New voice Id enrollment without agent using contact flows

0

Hi All,

I just want to know that can I able to record the customer voice by asking to give a speech for 30 seconds and enroll the voice Id in amazon connect contact flow or how can I do the new customer voice enrollment inside the contact flow itself, as of my understanding the set voice id block and check voice Id block isn't gone help to enroll new voice Id.

Also I dont want to take the call to agent to enroll the voice.

How can I achieve this within the contact flow ?

Thanks, Vikash

Hi Vikash,

To achieve voice enrollment within the Amazon Connect contact flow without involving an agent, you can follow a workaround approach. You're right that the "Set Voice ID" and "Check Voice ID" blocks in Amazon Connect are designed for verification rather than enrollment. Unfortunately, Amazon Connect’s built-in blocks don’t currently support direct enrollment of new voice IDs within the contact flow.

However, you can achieve voice enrollment using the following steps:

1. Capture the Customer's Voice Sample

  • You can use the "Get Customer Input" block to capture a 30-second voice recording. In this block, set it up to record audio input for the specified time.
  • After the voice recording, store this as an audio file in an S3 bucket, which you can process further to enroll the customer.

2. Call Amazon Connect Voice ID Service via Lambda Function

  • Once the audio recording is stored in S3, invoke an AWS Lambda function to handle the enrollment.
  • The Lambda function will use the Amazon Connect Voice ID API to enroll the customer’s voice. You’ll use the StartSpeakerEnrollment API to create a voice profile for the customer with their voice sample.

3. Return the Enrollment Status to the Contact Flow

  • After the Lambda function completes enrollment, it can return a status (success/failure) back to the contact flow using a "Set Contact Attributes" block. Based on the enrollment status, you can then proceed with confirming the customer or taking any other action in the flow.

Example Flow Steps:

  1. Play Prompt Block: Ask the customer to speak for 30 seconds.
  2. Get Customer Input Block: Record the customer’s voice.
  3. Invoke Lambda Function Block: Call a Lambda function that enrolls the customer’s voice using the S3 recording.
  4. Set Contact Attributes Block: Check the result of the enrollment.
  5. Play Prompt Block: Inform the customer whether the enrollment was successful or failed.

This setup avoids needing to route the call to an agent and keeps everything within the contact flow. Would you like help with setting up the Lambda function or the specific API calls?

  • Hi Gabriel,

I don't think the Get Customer Input Block will get the voice input of the user unless it integrated with Lex. correct me, If I am wrong.
