Besides logging out, you can also deploy a bit of automation with Lambda to "auto-shutoff" the sessions. I made a 1-minute video showing both the manual log off and where to find the automated solution: https://youtube.com/shorts/r9Aze4KyCjs?si=mbd0SKgd-YmErXbe (edited)

Hello, according to the service FAQ the approach to stop the session is by clicking on the Log Out button on the Canvas app

It is 2024 and the referenced blog post from AWS includes a solution that is hosted by a 3P github.
Could we get an official and programmatic way to log out of Canvas sessions?
I have banned canvas in my organization until this is resolved.
This is not customer obsession. This performance is abysmal.
@Randall Hunt, The comment above was posted when the official solution wasn't published yet. The 3P article and git repo are owned by AWS Solutions Architect who later turned them into official blog post article. Please follow the solution described in our official resources: Article: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/machine-learning/optimizing-costs-for-amazon-sagemaker-canvas-with-automatic-shutdown-of-idle-apps/ GitHub: https://github.com/aws-samples/sagemaker-canvas-auto-shutdown-on-idle
