Is it possible to leverage AWS Cloud WAN segment with AWS Transit Gateways

Question

We have many transit gateways in one AWS account and we are interested in segment feature in AWS cloud WAN, is there any way to leverage segment feature from AWS Cloud WAN without getting rid of existing transit gateways?

Hi,

Yes, you can directly use the AWS Cloud WAN segment service while retaining the existing AWS transit gateways. This method can be called Federation.

The reference steps are as follows:

1/ Build AWS Cloud WAN - Global Networks and Core network

2/ Create segments within Policy

3/ Establish peering with the existing transit gateway and AWS Cloud WAN

4/ Create attachment for transit gateway route table

5/ Connect the above attachments to the corresponding segments through tags
