Amplify Authentication - User Attribute Change


The Amplify documentation link shows that when you update a user attribute "(s)ome attributes require confirmation for the attribute update to complete". What attribute specifically will require confirmation?

Hi -

The standard attributes that are available for update as part of Amplify Auth are listed in the Cognito documentation at this link.

Of these phone and email are the two attributes that can be setup for MFA verification. This is possible from the MFA and Verifications tab within Cognito => User Pools => General Settings. The email verification is enabled by default. The other options are phone number, email or phone, or you can specify 'no verification'
