Don't have IAM permissions

0

I am using AWS for a class. I am trying to create an environment in cloud9 for an assignment. When I try to create the environment I get an error that I don't have permission to create one. I reached out to my professor about this who told me to reach out to technical support. I go to try to contact technical support and I don't even have permission to do that. I've been trying to figure this out for a couple hours now using different avenues. I finally spoke to a representative with the chat bot and all they did was refer me to this page. I am hoping someone can give me some guidance because I haven't been able to get any everywhere I have looked.

Hello.

Are the required IAM policies set for the IAM user you are using?
AWS operations will not be allowed unless the required IAM policy is attached to the IAM user.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/IAM/latest/UserGuide/id_groups_manage_attach-policy.html

If it is possible to edit the IAM user, try attaching the necessary IAM policy.
Additionally, if you do not have permission to operate IAM policies, you will need to contact the administrator of your AWS account and have them set it up.

  • How do I know who my administrator is? I've tried everything so I think that's what I need to do but I don't know who to contact.

  • Who issued your AWS account? If you are the one who issued the AWS account, you will need to operate and configure the settings.
