I understand your requirement - you want Indian customers to see Indian caller ID for outbound calls and dial Indian numbers for inbound calls, while keeping your Connect instance in Singapore.
Based on the coverage documentation, for India:
- DID and Toll-free numbers are available
- National Outbound, International Outbound, Porting, Multi-Carrier, and Custom Caller ID are not supported
For your use case:
- Inbound calls: You can get Indian numbers through our carrier partner and map them to your Singapore Connect instance
- Outbound calls: Since Custom Caller ID is not supported for India, displaying Indian caller ID for outbound calls may not be possible
Next steps:
- Contact our carrier partner for India to confirm what's available: https://d1v2gagwb6hfe1.cloudfront.net/Amazon_Connect_Telecoms_Coverage.pdf
- For mapping numbers to your instance: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/connect/latest/adminguide/third-party-numbers.html
Hi,
I have checked Region requirements for ordering and porting phone numbers in Amazon Connect and India region is not support, So is there any work arround or any other solution to resolve my above requirement.
Regards Mahendra Kumar
Based on your requirements, here's how you can approach this situation:
For outbound calls showing an Indian caller ID: You can set up a custom caller ID for outbound calls by contacting AWS Support with the following details:
- Your Amazon Connect instance ARN
- The list of Indian phone numbers you want to display as the outbound caller ID
- Proof of ownership of these numbers (can be found on your latest invoice within 30 days)
- A detailed and valid use case explaining your requirement
After AWS Support approves your request, you'll be able to set up your external Indian numbers as the outbound caller ID, allowing your Indian customers to see a local number when your agents call them.
For inbound calls using Indian numbers: Since Amazon Connect is not available in India and you cannot port Indian numbers directly, you'll need to request international phone numbers through AWS Support:
- Create an AWS Support case under "Connect (Number Management)" with the category "Special Phone Number Request"
- Specify exactly how many Indian numbers you need
- Provide all required information about your request
Note that local regulations may require a local office address and specific identification documents to claim Indian phone numbers. The process for obtaining international numbers can take 2-6 weeks, and in some cases up to 60 days.
For routing media in India:
This is a more complex requirement as Amazon Connect instances are region-specific. You might need to explore additional solutions like using third-party telecom providers that can handle local media routing while integrating with your Singapore-based Amazon Connect instance.

Request numbers or international numbers for Amazon Connect - Amazon Connect

I have checked with Amazon carrier partner and they mentioned , Amazon is currently not allowing AVOXI to offer outbound services to Amazon Connect customers. Additionally, local Indian CLI presentation is not supported for outbound calls via Amazon Connect.
Given these limitations, still our concern remain same, could you help to please clarify:
How would outbound calling through Amazon Connect or AVOXI remain compliant with TRAI regulations, especially considering that Amazon Connect is not available in India and therefore cannot map or claim any Indian number (DID/TFN)? How would local CLI presentation for outbound calls within India be achieved either from the Amazon Connect or AVOXI end for Amazon connect CCaaS?
it remains unclear how the AVOXI + Amazon Connect solution would meet TRAI’s regulatory requirements for outbound voice traffic?
Is there any other carrier partner who can support OB calling for India with local CLI presentation as per TRAI regulation?
