Error: The X application has been deleted from your IAM Identity Center, leaving X in an invalid state.

IAM user was deleted (along with data, profile, and access to application) and later restored. But the user is getting the above error when trying to access the X application. Console prompted to "To continue to use X, the X profile must first be deleted." But the delete attempt also failed.

Is there a method manually deleting the X application profile from user's account?

Issue resolved. The "unable to delete profile" error was due to the user was restored in a different region than the original.

Steps:

  1. Delete the user from the current IAM region and rebuild the user in the original (prior to deletion).
  2. Delete the X application from AWS console.
  3. Rebuild the user in the desired region.
  4. Re-enable the X application from AWS console.
