SES feedback notifications vs configuration sets event destinations

0

Hi there.

I've used the feedback notifications at the identity level (SES ➜ Identities ➜ <identity> ➜ Notifications). This approach lets me manage bounces and complaints, as well as log meta data of emails sending through SES. For example SESSNSLambda ➜ ...

For some of the identities configured in SES, I use configuration sets. Configuration sets feature event destinations that also allow me to configure SNS topics for events such as bounces, complaints, sends, deliveries, and even more.

If I configure these notifications through configuration sets, I assume that the feedback notifications at the identity level are not required anymore and can be deleted. Correct?

Please correct me if I am wrong but I see more benefits in using the event notifications through configuration sets and assume that they can actually replace the feedback options at the identity level. Are they any differences, or pros and cons using one or the other solution?

Best Regards, Yarpen

Hello.

You can also check bounces and compliance in the configuration set, so I think there are some that overlap with the content of Amazon SES event notifications.
In addition, you can also track opens and clicks, so I think the setting set has many benefits because you can see more events.
Therefore, if you are using a configuration set, I think there is no problem even if you do not set event notifications.
