Designer object exporter exports only in absolute coordinates?

0

The designer's .obj exporter is only exporting in the absolute world position, and no option to export it relative, from its own pivot point, which is a pain when I import the primitive into the 3d modeler to build it out to it's final design and it's 8k away from the origin. I have some workaround but it is still a painful time waster.

Did I miss something or is this how it works atm. ?

If the later is the case, please add this option later.

Thank you for the quick response. To be honest after searching the forums about this problem and did not found anything about it, no one else raised the issue, thought I missed something.

@REDACTEDUSER

Sorry that Designer tool doesn't have option for export obj with local pivot. The Lumberyard team doesn't have time estimate for availability.

There is other option you might want to try in Lumberyard that you can export designer object to FBX via menu > Game > Export selected objects and select "FBX" format, when you import to DCC then you would get the local pivot. Please let me know if this would easy out your process.

Thanks

Thank you, that helps! The model still has the world position but with local pivot so I just have to move the model to the origin.

Until then I got through the menu> Game> Export selected objects and select FBX format, when you import to DCC then you would get the local pivot. I hope I have helped! Thanks
