sudo: amazon-linux-extras: command not found

I want to deploy wordpress website using RDS and ec2 and for that i'm taking help of aws hands on tutorial to deploy wordpress with RDS. one point came deploy wordpress and this command is given but when im suing its showing error command : sudo amazon-linux-extras install -y lamp-mariadb10.2-php7.2 php7.2 error:sudo: amazon-linux-extras: command not found

Check the Amazon image version of your EC2 instance That is because you must have picked amazon linux 2023 ami while launching the server the command "amazon-linux-extras" will work only in amazon-linux-2.

  • ok I got it but one more question if you don't mind why to use amazon-linux-2 rather then amazon linux 2023 and whats the difference between them and how to know which ami to use.
