<alias>@<organization>.awsapps.com can send, yet not receive

0

Hi,

a while ago I set up an Workmail Account and got it working back then, it could receive E-Mails.
The account is set as return-path to handle bounces for SES and manage an automatic blacklist for hard bounces.
Now I noticed that I can't receive mails anymore, can't even tell since when.

"<alias>@<organization>.awsapps.com: host
inbound-smtp.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com[176.32.109.132] said: 550 5.1.1
Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable (in reply to RCPT TO
command)"

I tried searching for a solution for a typical "can send but not receive" and only saw that awsapps.com should work just fine. Typically problems seem to be around custom domains one way or another. I'm at a loss where to look :/

Sincerely,
akalk

Hi akalk,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing problems with receiving mail. I took a look at your account and it seem you do not have an active SES rule set. I can see you have 2 rules, 1 is called INBOUND_MAIL which is created by WorkMail and only contains a WorkMail delivery action. The second one has 2 actions, 1 for WorkMail and a second rule that does something else.

In order to receive mail you need to have an active rule set that contains the WorkMail action (with the correct settings). Please enable either of these rule sets. If you enable the non WorkMail created rule set please make sure that the non WorkMail action works.

Kind regards,
Robin
