Bedrock Model "Unavailable" for all Regions

1

I'm logged as a root user in AWS, and using my personal account for a demo. But the Bedrock model shows "Unavailable" for all the models in my region. Tried changing different region but it didn't work. I'm trying to learn Amazon bedrock and trying hands-on use cases for my learning. Can someone help me with this? Please note im using free tier

  • hello I am facing same issue, have you received any help?

I understand you're experiencing issues accessing Amazon Bedrock models in your AWS account. There are a few important points to consider:

  1. Model availability: Amazon Bedrock models are not available in all AWS regions. They are primarily supported in US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon) regions, with some exceptions for specific models.

  2. Free tier limitations: It's important to note that Amazon Bedrock is not typically included in the AWS Free Tier. Bedrock is a paid service, and access to its models usually requires a paid AWS account.

  3. Account restrictions: Even as a root user, there might be restrictions on your account preventing access to Bedrock. This could be due to the account being new or not having the necessary permissions enabled.

  4. Region-specific availability: Some models are only available in specific regions. For example, certain AI21 models and Amazon Titan Text Premier are only available in US East (N. Virginia).

  5. Gated access: Access to models in some regions, such as Europe (Ireland) and Asia Pacific (Singapore), is currently gated and requires contacting your AWS account manager for access.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Ensure you're trying to access Bedrock in a supported region, primarily US East (N. Virginia) or US West (Oregon).
  2. Verify that your AWS account is not limited to free tier services and that you have the necessary permissions to use Bedrock.
  3. If the issue persists, you may need to contact AWS Support or your account manager to enable Bedrock access for your account.

Remember, Bedrock is a paid service, and you'll need to consider the costs associated with using it beyond any initial trial or promotional period.

Hello.

It has been reported that several users have had their Bedrock quota set to 0 for the past few days.
I think this is probably related.

In this case, the user cannot resolve the issue, so they must contact AWS Support using the URL below.
