Cloud Quest Gen. AI Architect Task: Issue with "Create Trustworthy LLMs with a Vector Database" Lab

0

Hello,

Hoping someone might be able to offer advice with this assignment, please - it's the last one before I complete the Cloud Quest Gen AI Architect and get my badge - am stuck at 96% completion! :-(

The assignment is ""Create Trustworthy LLMs with a Vector Database". I've followed the Practice section precisely, three times, but still get an error when trying to complete step 40. Clicking "Create Knowledge Base" results in the error "1 validation error detected: Value at 'storageConfiguration.rdsConfiguration.tableName' failed to satisfy constraint: Member must satisfy regular expression pattern: [a-zA-Z0-9_.-]+".

The instructions state "You can safely ignore any error alerts", but this particular error prevents the vector database from being initialised and so is blocking progress completely.

I've tried going through the steps three times, changing the table name from "bedrock_integration.bedrock_kb" to "bedrockintegration.bedrockkb" and still no luck.

Any suggestions very welcome - thanks in advance!

OK, I tried the suggestion above, of modifying the table name - no luck. But, suddenly re-starting the lab and starting from scratch again, and the table name "bedrock_integration.bedrock_kb" worked perfectly and I could complete the lab and claim the badge :-)

I'm going to assume that a kind AWS developer read the issue and fixed the problem - if so, many thanks indeed!

This is a known issue with the AWS Cloud Quest lab environments where the permissions or configurations don't always align with the current AWS console experience.

The error you're encountering is related to the table name format in the RDS configuration for your knowledge base. The validation error indicates that the table name doesn't match the required pattern, even though you've tried different variations.

Since you mentioned that you've already tried removing special characters from the table name (changing from "bedrock_integration.bedrock_kb" to "bedrockintegration.bedrockkb"), here are some additional suggestions:

  1. Try using just a simple name without any periods, like "bedrockkb" or "knowledgebase"

  2. Double-check that there are no hidden spaces or special characters in the table name field

  3. Verify that all other required fields in the form are properly filled out

  4. If possible, try restarting the lab completely (not just repeating the steps) as this might reset any underlying configuration issues

  5. If the issue persists, you may need to contact AWS Cloud Quest support as this could be a bug in the lab environment that requires their attention

Cloud Quest lab environments have restricted permissions and pre-configured resources, which sometimes leads to these types of issues when the lab instructions don't perfectly align with the current AWS console experience. Unfortunately, you typically can't modify the underlying permissions or configurations in these environments.
