Once a root account is changed, how long does it take to gain again access to it?

I recently changed my root account email because when trying to fix an payment issue, when logging in I got a message saying that the email was not unique. I changed the email but when trying to sign in, I'm getting: "Email update for your account is in progress": It's been 3 days since I did this. How much longer do I have to wait?

I did get in my new email inbox this confirmation:

"Thanks for visiting Amazon.ca! Per your request, we have changed the e-mail address associated with your account

The e-mail address associated with your account has been changed. The old address was <old email>. The new address is <new email>."

Hello.

I also changed the root user's email address in the past, and it took less than 3 days.
I'm sure it may take some time, but I think 3 days is a bit long.

Changes to an AWS account can take up to four hours to propagate everywhere.

I recommend that you contact AWS Support by opening a case under "Account and billing".
Inquiries via "Account and billing" can be made free of charge.

Thanks. Seems like I just needed to wait a little longer. A couple of hours after posting this question, I got an email form AWS describing the steps to re-gain access to my root account.
