No user names listed in IAM access management

0

I'm following the tutorial to get set up with AWS https://aws.amazon.com/getting-started/guides/setup-environment/module-two/ it says to select the username under access management, this is supposed to be the root user and it's wanting me to add MFA to this user. But I have no user names listed in IAM at all, and I don't know how to set a root username up in order to continue with the tutorial. I've searched on this forum but I can't find an answer.

Hello.

The root user is not an IAM user, so it is not listed in the IAM console.
To set up MFA for the root user, please follow the steps in the document below.
Please sign in as a root user to configure the following documents.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/IAM/latest/UserGuide/enable-virt-mfa-for-root.html

I have already set up MFA in my AWS account, but if you open "Security credentials" using the steps in the above document, you can open the screen for setting up MFA as shown in the image below.

For root user, you could find to setup a MFA under quicklinks as shown in the figure below or on the Dashboard page, where you can enable MFA.

MFA Enable

I will look at sharing the feedback to update the relevant document in the link.
