Delete a single recording?

0

Had a few issues where a sensor has been moved off of the equipment without deleting sensor first. This has caused the record to be astronomically high which then ruins the graph with that 1 singular recording.

Is there anyway of either deleting a singular recording so you can look at the data more accurately.

For example the data was around 3mm total vibration and since this error there is a point on the graph for 65mm.

Many thanks.

Unfortunately, Omnisens does not currently provide a way to delete individual data points or recordings from the graphs or data logs. The data stored in Omnisens is intended to be a complete historical record, and removing or modifying individual data points is not supported.

However, there are a few potential workarounds or alternatives you could consider:

  1. Data Filtering: Omnisens allows you to filter the displayed data based on various criteria, such as date range, sensor, or measurement type. You could try filtering out the date range or sensor where the erroneous data point exists, effectively hiding it from view without actually deleting it.

  2. Exporting and Manipulating Data: You can export the data from Omnisens in various formats (e.g., CSV, Excel). Once exported, you can open the data in a spreadsheet program or data analysis tool and manually remove or adjust the erroneous data point(s). However, this will only affect the exported data, not the original data stored in Omnisens.

  3. Ignoring Outliers: Depending on your analysis requirements, you may be able to ignore or exclude obvious outliers from your analysis. Many data analysis tools and techniques allow you to identify and handle outliers in a statistically sound manner.

  4. Contacting Support: If the erroneous data point(s) are causing significant issues with your analysis or reporting, you could contact Omnisens support and explain the situation. They may be able to provide further guidance or potential solutions specific to your use case.

It's important to note that modifying or deleting data should be done with caution, as it can potentially impact the integrity and historical accuracy of the data. If possible, it's generally recommended to keep the original data intact and address erroneous or outlier data points through filtering, exporting, or statistical methods.
