How can I quickly restore MySQL to a previous state?

Hello,

Am I correct that RDS MySQL database Snapshot and Backup can only be restored to a new database? What do you suggest if I don't want to create a new database but want to quickly and easily restore the existing one to a previous state?

To restore an AWS RDS MySQL database to a previous state without creating a new database, you generally have to restore the snapshot to a new instance due to AWS's design. However, you can manage this process more efficiently by restoring to a New Instance and Swapping Endpoints.

AWS RDS does not allow direct version downgrades.
