Hello,
If you're using Amazon RDS for MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB, use the Read Replica Endpoint. This endpoint always points to a read replica and will automatically switch to another read replica if the current one fails or is promoted.
If you're using Amazon Aurora, use the Reader Endpoint. It automatically load-balances read-only connections to the DB cluster across multiple read replicas.
