Hiberate Workspace instead of shut-down it

0

Hi,

On my Workspace, I install WAMPServer. So each time when I need to use it, I need to start WAMP server which takes some time and is inconvenient. And I need to open many other software such as VS code.

So when I finish with my work, can I hiberate the computer instead of shut down the computer. So that when I need to start again, I can activate it without having to restart WAMP Server and other tools?

Also during the hibernation period, will I be charged for the fee? My Workspace is in AutoStop mode.

Workspaces only has two running modes: AlwayOn and AutoStop. You can switch your instance to AlwaysOn by paying a fixed monthly fee to get unlimited usage. Another option is to install your WAMPServer on an EC2 instance which does support hibernation. Here is more detail about EC2 hibernation. While the instance is in hibernation, you pay only for the EBS volumes and Elastic IP Addresses attached to it; there are no other hourly charges (just like any other stopped instance).
