Increase in S3 charge after versioning is disabled

0

customer had disabled the versioning on an S3 bucket. After disabling the Versioning, the timed storage cost went down, however, customer observed increase in the request-tier 2 costs (gets and heads). Some background on this bucket: this bucket is used as a parquet file data lake where data is streamed in from a number of sources. Databricks is used for querying, notebooks, and reporting dashboards. could you please let us know why the increase in tier2 requests when only versioning was disabled

Since nobody has yet to assist you yet I thought I would suggest that perhaps the bucket is in a version-suspended state. While it is not creating additional versions the other applications may be attempting to perform the tier2 requests a scale. Did the customer remove the old versions of objects, or simply turn off bucket versioning?
