Reserved nodes in Redshift having On-demand cluster

0

We are currently running a 2-node dc2.large on-demand cluster in Redshift. We want to buy reserved nodes for our cluster.

Since reserved nodes are only available for ra3 types. Do we need to first change/resize our dc2 nodes to ra3 so we can apply the reserved discounts?

For what we understood, in order to apply the discounts, the current cluster should exactly match the configurations/type of the reserved nodes.

Hello.

As you know, the discount will not be applied unless the node type matches the reserved node you purchased.
So I think you need to change the node type before purchasing.
