Use generative voice with Lex

0

Is it possible to use polly generative voice with lex? There is no such option inside SetVoice block in connect flow, also there is no usch options indeside language settings in lex bot itself. Maybe it is possible to set voice from associated lambda (maybe some "x-amz-lex:" attribute?)

@Daniil Thanks for elaborating your request. I checked that the feature to set Generative Voice was recenly released on 8th May: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/a-new-generative-engine-and-three-voices-are-now-generally-available-on-amazon-polly/

As the feature is fairly new, it would take some time to be incorporated into Amazon Connect. Please be rest assured that I have raised a feature request on your behalf internally for enabling this feature. I won't be able to share an ETA as we have no visibility into the development pipeline. Any new updates to the service will be published in public portals.

For now, you can select Standard or Neural Voice engines which are available to chose from for the voice. Feel free to let me know if you have any other queries.

  • Thank you! I have only one question - I opened a support ticket with same question at same time as here on our business account and still don't get any answer (status of case =Unassigned). How it's possible that I've got two answers here more quickly than any on business support? =))

Hello, thank you for sharing your query.

The list of Polly generative voices is as shown here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/polly/latest/dg/generative-voices.html#generative-voicelist

Within the Set Voice block, you can chose to select Matthew or Ruth from the 'Voice' dropdown if you have selected English (US) and for English (UK) you can select Amy. I have checked this in the us-east-1 region and it is available. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/connect/latest/adminguide/set-voice.html

Please check and let me know if you need more assistance on this.

  • voice "Matthew" available in 3 engines: generative, neural, standart. There is no option in SetVoice block to select generative engine.
