Refund/Sell RDS Reserved Instance

Purchased a second reserved RDS instance by accident. Is there a way to get a refund from AWS, or sell the RI on the market place? First attempt required a US bank account, but located in Canada. A Reddit forum indicated that RDS RI's weren't available to resell, only EC2 RI's.

Only EC2 Standard Reserved Instances can be sold in the Reserved Instance Marketplace.

I would immediately open a support case to see if there could be a one-time exception to grant a refund. This is not guaranteed though.

Hi Jeremy, thanks for the quick response. I have opened a ticket, and they have pushed a request to the RDS team for the refund. Not guaranteed, but at least there's a chance. Cheers.
