If an Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) snapshot is in an error state, it generally means that the snapshot process encountered an issue and the snapshot is not reliable or complete. In such cases, the snapshot usually cannot be used or made usable.
The most common course of action is to delete the snapshot in an error state. After deleting the snapshot, you can attempt to recreate it from a previous snapshopt. Ensure that the source EBS volume is in a stable state and that there are no underlying issues that might cause the snapshot process to fail again.
