Compute Savings Plan

0

Hi everybody,

I have an hourly spend of 0.8352 and I will get a 1 year no prepayment compute savings plan. On the Compute Savings Plan pricing page, the savings plan rate is as follows. Enter image description here The recommendations on the Savings plan recommedetions page are as follows. Enter image description here Enter image description here Compute savings plan commits to hourly usage, yes. but I'm confused why it shows price and rate according to ec2 machine type in the compute savings plan section. I know the difference between EC2 Savings plan and compute savings plan, but the discount rates in compute savings seem very inconsistent to me. It says 14% for 0.65500/hour and 16% for 0.64900/hour.

if I commit to the savings plan rate of $0.60966 in the first photo, do you think I will get the 27% discount? my on demand spend is 0.8352/hours, what do you think I should put in the savings plan rate? hope I explained it correctly?

The reason Compute Savings Plan shows the rate is because it uses that rate to apply the discount. If you commit to $0.60966/hr which means you only have one r6in.2xlarge running within a particular hour, you will receive 27% for that instance. So to purchase Savings Plans, you put in the rate that you feel comfortable to commit to. You can also refer to this post.

I apologize for my difficulty in understanding this issue.

I use 1 piece t3.xlarge, 4 piece t3.large, 4 piece t3a.medium, 4 piece t3a.small ec2 instance.

My total on demand cost per hour is almost equal to the cost of instance type r6in.2xlarge ($0.8352). I know that Compute Savings Plan offers flexible usage, independent of EC2 type, so if I commit to $0.60966/hr, can't I get a $27 discount? Or should I use the lower recommended rate of 16% 0.64900/hr?
