The reason Compute Savings Plan shows the rate is because it uses that rate to apply the discount. If you commit to $0.60966/hr which means you only have one r6in.2xlarge running within a particular hour, you will receive 27% for that instance. So to purchase Savings Plans, you put in the rate that you feel comfortable to commit to. You can also refer to this post.
I apologize for my difficulty in understanding this issue.
I use 1 piece t3.xlarge, 4 piece t3.large, 4 piece t3a.medium, 4 piece t3a.small ec2 instance.
My total on demand cost per hour is almost equal to the cost of instance type r6in.2xlarge ($0.8352). I know that Compute Savings Plan offers flexible usage, independent of EC2 type, so if I commit to $0.60966/hr, can't I get a $27 discount? Or should I use the lower recommended rate of 16% 0.64900/hr?
