Just sent in one with my original accounts email. Do you know what the response time is usually on these type of requests?

I'm experiencing the exact same situation. I also opened a support request using the form https://support.aws.amazon.com/#/contacts/aws-account-support roughly three hours ago using my original account's email and have not heard anything back yet - not even an email confirmation. Commenting here for visibility and to follow this thread
UPDATE I followed what the user 'Liberty Brands' said in this thread (https://repost.aws/questions/QUuB6WnPtbSHGeQ8vQjBVqNA/root-account-hacked-and-email-changed) and was able to get my account back
