Do the ASL intrinsic functions not work in the data flow simulator?

I have tried examples from the docs, the ASL spec, and SO, nothing seems to give the expected result. It's either nothing or a literal string of the function call.

Hi jamessouth,

We are aware of the current limitations of the data flow simulator and plan to add functionality to it to bring the experience closer to that of an actual execution. The current behaviour of it not supporting intrinsic functions is expected.
