Hello,
Unapplied funds in AWS are like extra money you have in your account.
- AWS automatically uses this extra money to pay your bills.
- You can also tell AWS to use it for specific bills or ask for a refund.
It's important to check your unapplied funds regularly to make sure they're being used correctly.
Will they get paid out or do we apply them to outstanding invoices?
You can either use unapplied funds to pay outstanding invoices or request a refund. AWS will automatically apply them to invoices unless you specify otherwise. If you don't want to use them for invoices, you can request a refund.
Hi,
This doc page explains you how to make use of AWS credit notes: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/awsaccountbilling/latest/aboutv2/useconsolidatedbilling-credits.html
Best,
Didier
Hi Didier, that is how to use Credits, not credit notes which are different. There is very little to no information on AWS about credit notes and how they used. There is also no information that seems to be easily available on how to utilise them.
Hi Michael,
As we're unable to discuss account-specific information on this platform, we suggest reaching out to our Account & Billing team via our Support Center for any billing questions you may have. They have the necessary tools to review your recent invoices and verify if the credit note was applied successfully.

Ok, so I knew how to view them but I cannot see on the invoice whether they have been utilised and we have had an invoice since these credits were used and they were not automatically allocated. Do we wait until the next invoice? If we want to tell AWS where to apply them, how? There does not seem to be a readily availble email or place to contact them
