Codec for recording in AWS connect

What is the codec Amazon connect uses to record its call recording .wav files ? I understand that AWS Elemental MediaConvert, can convert the codec to another. However, what I am looking for is the exact codec in which .wav files are recorded in AWS Connect.

The codec is PCM S16 LE. 8000 Hz 16bit.

I couldn't find any documentation to support this. I went and look at the recording on one of my environments to validate.
