I cannot add a DNS record to any new/existing Lightsail DNS Zone

0

Hi everyone, The Lightsail DNS zones does not allow me to create another entry besides the “A” entry. All MX, AAA, NS, CNAME or even TXT records are disabled. This is the case for all (3) of my instances. And all (3) DNS zones. The same thing happens when I create a new DNS zone with a different domain name that is not yet in my instance and DNS list. I can delete records, but I can't create new record other than an “A” record. Is this a problem with the console? Have you had similar experiences? Please help Thank you in advance

Hello.

You can create the records described in the following documentation in your Lightsail DNS zone.
I tried it with my AWS account and was able to successfully register the DNS record.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lightsail/latest/userguide/understanding-dns-in-amazon-lightsail.html#lightsail-dns-records-supported-in-lightsail

Are any errors output when registering DNS records?

  • Hi, Thank you for your comment. When I click to select a record type, all available records A, AAAA, ANAME, TXT, MX, NS and SRV are listed. Unfortunately, apart from the A record, which is selected by default, I cannot select to edit any other record, no matter how I click on it. It is really strange
