CodePipeline source provider GitHub Version 2 on eu-south-1

0

I currently have issues with the CodePipeline source provider GitHub version 1 on my infrastructure on eu-south-1, in particular the console displays "insufficient permissions" and a full error message like "Unable to connect to the GitHub repository org-name-on-github/repo-name. Use the console to reconnect your pipeline to GitHub." every few weeks.

I see that a potential fix is to migrate to GitHub version 2 source provider that is based on GitHub apps instead to the v1 token system but in that region (eu-south-1) it's not available.

Do someone knows if the v2 will be the supported in the (near) future or I have to migrate to another region in order use it? Is there a public roadmap? I did not found any details online.

Unfortunately, it is certainly not possible to use GitHub Version 2 on "eu-south-1".
If you need to use GitHub version 2 now, you may want to consider using another region.
I believe this information is not yet publicly available to see if it will be supported in the near future.

  • Thanks for the fast reply. I hope they will distribute the provider in Milan as well, it will fix a huge problem for us.
