Metric Online time is this total time agent is logged in.

I've read all the amazon literature, which states it made up of "This metric includes all non-offline status time." Does this mean it includes the time spent on a call?

Just trying to break down number of hours Available, Unavailable, On Calls.

I've search all over the web but cannot get a definitive answer

In Amazon Connect, "Online time" refers to the total time an agent is logged in and not in an Offline status. This metric does include the time spent on calls, as well as time spent in other statuses like Available and custom statuses (such as Training or other non-productive statuses).

When breaking down an agent's online time, Amazon Connect provides a useful visualization through the "Agent online time breakdown" chart in the Agent performance evaluations dashboard. This chart specifically breaks down online time into three categories:

  1. On-contact time: Time spent handling contacts, including customer hold time and after contact work time
  2. Idle time: Time when the agent is available to take calls but not actively on a contact
  3. Non-productive time: Time spent in custom statuses (statuses other than Available or Offline)

The "Percent agent on contact time" metric specifically measures the percentage of online time that an agent spent on contacts, calculated as (SUM_CONTACT_TIME_AGENT/SUM_ONLINE_TIME_AGENT) * 100.

So to answer your question directly - yes, online time includes time spent on calls, as well as time spent in Available status and custom statuses. This allows you to get a complete picture of how agents are spending their logged-in time across productive and non-productive activities.

Thanks for quick reply, it's very much appreciated.

I have a couple of other related questions. I've just exported Historical metrics for an agent they are worded slightly differently would this below be the same as you mentioned above: -

(Agent on contact time\Online time) * 100

Also does agent on contact time include any outbound calls they have made.

Also, if I'm looking at agent which is available. Does this as the name implies. Show the time agent is available\waiting to take a call?
