After the end of support date for AWS Panorama on May 31, 2026, the AWS Panorama Appliances purchased by customers will no longer function. This means that both the Panorama applications and the Panorama devices themselves will cease to work after this date.
Unfortunately, AWS has not announced any plans to allow customers to manage the device operating system or software independently after the end of support. The devices are currently fully managed by AWS, and this closed access will remain in place.
Existing customers can continue to use the AWS Panorama service and their appliances normally until the end of support date. However, after May 31, 2026, any applications that try to access Panorama will no longer work, and the Panorama devices will become non-functional.
AWS recommends that customers start planning their migration strategy well before the end of support date. They suggest exploring alternative solutions, such as using partner solutions from the AWS Partner Network or building custom solutions using other AWS services like Amazon SageMaker, AWS IoT Greengrass, Amazon EKS Anywhere, Amazon ECS Anywhere, and AWS Systems Manager.
While it's understandable that customers who have invested in these devices may be concerned about the waste, AWS has not provided any information about repurposing or continued use of the hardware after the service ends. Customers will need to plan for replacing these devices as part of their migration strategy from AWS Panorama.
