Cannot Register Domain in Route 53 (Support Case unanswered for 7 days on a new account)

-2

Hello AWS Community and Support team,

I am writing this post because I am currently unable to use my new AWS account, and my support tickets have received no response for almost a week.

Here is the summary of my situation:

  • Account Creation: My account was created nearly 7 days ago.
  • Current Issue: I can use other services like EC2 without problems, but I am completely unable to register a domain in Route 53. Also, my Cost Management dashboard still shows "Data unavailable"..
  • Support Tickets Filed: I opened two support cases—one in Spanish and one in English—explaining the issue, but both remain unassigned and unanswered after almost 7 days.

I have double-checked my billing information and debit card details, and everything is correct on my end. I have not received any email requesting further verification documents either.

Could a moderator please help me escalate this internally to the Account/Billing or Trust & Safety team? I need this account activated as soon as possible to start my project.

Here are my Case IDs for reference:

  • Case ID (English): ***************
  • Case ID (Spanish): ***************

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

*Edit: Removed case IDs - Kita B.

I understand how frustrating it can be when you're unable to move forward with your project. Let me provide some guidance on domain registration issues in Route 53 and next steps for your support cases.

Regarding Domain Registration in Route 53:

When you're unable to register a domain in Route 53, there are several common reasons this might occur:

  • Account verification requirements: New AWS accounts sometimes require additional verification before certain services, including domain registration, become fully available. This is a standard security measure.

  • Payment method validation: Even though you've verified your billing information, domain registration requires a valid payment method to be fully processed and verified in AWS's systems.

  • Service availability: Domain registration functionality may be temporarily restricted on new accounts until initial verification processes are complete.

Regarding Your Support Cases:

For your existing support cases, the best way to ensure they receive attention is to add any additional relevant information directly through the AWS Support Center at https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/. You can add correspondence to your existing cases there.

Important Note on Cost Management:

The "Data unavailable" message in your Cost Management dashboard is typically normal for very new accounts, as it can take 24-48 hours for billing data to begin populating after account creation.

I recommend continuing to work through the AWS Support Center for updates on your cases, as that's the official channel where the appropriate teams can access your account details and provide specific assistance.
