Lost User Login Credentials

0

Hello,

I hope someone can help us out. We have an employee who handles our AWS account but regarding the billing it is always charged using the company credit card. This employee already quit and cannot be contacted anymore. How can we regain access to the AWS account using our Credit Card that was used for payments and not using the email address?

Regards, Marie.

You cannot use your credit card information to log in to AWS.
If you have lost or misplaced the email address you use to log in, you will need to follow the instructions in the following document.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/accounts/latest/reference/troubleshooting_root-user.html#troubleshoot_general_lost-root-creds

If you own the domain for the email address, you can restore a deleted email address. Alternatively, you can set up a catch-all for your email account, which "catches all" messages sent to email addresses that no longer exist in the mail server and redirects them to another email address.

If the email address on the account is part of your corporate email system, we recommend that you contact your IT system administrators. They might be able to help you regain access to the email.

If you're still not able to sign in to your AWS account, you can find alternate support options at Contact us. Expand I cannot login to my AWS account and choose Request Support for AWS account Credentials. Provide the information in the form and choose Submit.

  • Hi Riku,

Thanks for the reply. The email address belongs to a former employee that cannot be contacted anymore for some reason. But this AWS account belongs to the company that pays the credit card. Is this still possible to regain access?

  • you cannot log in with just your credit card information. I suggest you contact support through the following links shared by other respondents. https://support.aws.amazon.com/#/contacts/aws-account-support
