Unzipped size must be smaller than 203788204 bytes

Since today when updating our Lambda I get the error "Unzipped size must be smaller than 203788204 bytes".

Which surprises me since the limit for the deployment package is specified as 250mb here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lambda/latest/dg/gettingstarted-limits.html and I also recall seeing the error with that size like mentioned here: https://repost.aws/questions/QUnth2kezRSBeNrDLoXzpLdg/lambda-failed-to-create-layer-version-unzipped-size-must-be-smaller-than-262144000-bytes

Does anybody know what is causing this, or whether there has been a change in policy?
