Good morning!

So I have looked into this more, and there are a couple of layers to this issue.
  1. The starter game lacks "visareas" in the interiors which would allow you to ignore the sky color when GI is enabled, or ignore GI altogether. However, there is a bug with these features currently in 1.9.1 and I have exposed this to the correct parties. So thank you for bringing this issue up!

1a. Normally you would create a "visarea"

1b. Then set your "visarea" to ignore skycolor

  1. In the mean time you can, for the sake of iteration adjust your "sky color multiplier" in the Environment settings

2a. Adjust your global fog color (which is multiplied against the sky)

2b. Or also use probes in your GI settings (this will multiply the probe color against the GI result)

  • I also included a snippet with the Integration Mode notes, for using probes with GI

Again thanks for bringing some of these issues up, I will get the right eyes on it, as for workarounds, I hope the information I provided helps!

I'm getting other kind of problems with vis areas maybe i'll post them in a specific thread.

it is about probes turning off while still visible through a portal

Thanks for your answer .

What's the meaning for global enviroment probe?just the one with the most priority for the entire level or something else?

What's the problem with visareas?

No problem at all! Global probe is a large probe you would create to cover your whole level, so there is either secondary lighting, or reflections in areas where you have not created "local" or more refined probes. Basically, it fills in gaps where you need baked coverage.

As for visareas some of the options, such as, "ignoregi" and "ignoreskycolor" do not seem to function currently, BUT I have gotten the issue in front of the correct people to resolve!

good to hear that , total illumination is a great system but few issues here and there makes it really unreliable, more consistency required. Please also check this other post with major details on few other issues with total illumination and SamplesProject\Levels\Samples\Particles_Technical_Sample where there are some issues with discrete light bounces and total illumination (bounces affects the wrong meshes if I remember well)
