Based on the error message you're encountering in the AWS BluAge L3 workshop, your application is failing to start due to dependency injection issues, particularly related to Redis cache configuration and database connectivity.

There are several potential causes for this issue:

  1. Database naming mismatch: One common cause is a mismatch between the database name in your configuration and the actual database name. Check if there's a case sensitivity issue - for example, if the database was created with capital letters but referenced with lowercase letters in your application configuration.

  2. Redis configuration issues: The error indicates problems with Redis cache setup. Verify that your Redis server is running and accessible, and that connection details (host, port, password) are correctly configured.

  3. AWS Secrets Manager integration: The application might be unable to retrieve necessary credentials from AWS Secrets Manager. Verify that all required secrets are properly set up and that secret ARNs in your configuration files are correct.

  4. Database connection problems: Check your database connection settings, including URLs, usernames, and passwords. Ensure the database server is running and accessible.

  5. Configuration file issues: Review your application.yml or application.properties files to ensure all necessary settings are correct.

Based on similar issues reported in the workshop, the most likely solution is to check for naming inconsistencies between your resources (especially database names) and how they're referenced in your application configuration. Once you correct these naming issues, the application should start successfully.

I suspect this could be due to the AWS Secret not being properly decrypted by the Mainframe Modernization App, would request you to review the Primary, Bluesam DB setup steps, and see if the generated password during the Database creation step is same as the secret present in the secrets manager for the entries, This may happen if the secret was rotated by the secret manager for the database. If it was rotated, then you need to update the new generated password in the Primary and Bluesam secrets.
