EFS pricing for tiny files

0

A customer wants to store millions of small files (less than 1KB each) on EFS.

They want to know if we round up the size of small files to a minimum file size when calculating the storage costs. The pricing example on the service page seems to indicate we do not round up small files to a minimum size for EFS.

Can someone please confirm this?

Yes, the minimum metering increment for EFS is 4KiB, and inodes are metered at 2 KiB. So a 1KiB file is metered at 6KiB. More info here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/efs/latest/ug/metered-sizes.html
