Hello! As stated in our documentation https://aws.amazon.com/getting-started/hands-on/map-your-domain-at-route53-to-lightsail/6/ DNS record updates can take up to 72 hours.
Sometimes I have used this third party website https://www.whatsmydns.net/ to check the status of the propagation around different DNS servers around the world.
I understand they say it can take up to 72 hours, but in reality does it take that long? It's now been almost 24 and it's still not resolving.
I have seen records take nearly 72 hours, but usually takes less. Have you checked the status of the propagation of the records? Have you used tools like nslookup to query the nameservers of your domain, to see if the records are there? For example:
nslookup set type=NS <domain.com> take a look at the nameserver records reported. exit nslookup - <name server record> set type=TXT <record name>
If you still have issues, consider raising a new support case so an engineer can assist you further.
You can use Amazon Inspector to conduct scans on your instances. See: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/inspector/latest/user/what-is-inspector.html

In case anyone sees this after the fact...I ended up redoing it and it completed in about 10 minutes, so unfortunately I don't know what the issue was.
